MTMA - The Mantua Township Missile Agency

Welcome!

The Mantua Township Missile Agency (MTMA) is Section #606 of the National Association of Rocketry (NAR). We are a group of rocketeers in the Greater Cleveland and Akron, Ohio area.

Our launches are setup and run by MTMA Members and are conducted in accordance with the NAR Model Rocket Safety Code. All of our launches are model rockets only. High power rocketry cannot currently be flown at our field due to limitations imposed by the NAR High Power Safety Code.

MTMA 2026 Launch Schedule

Members don't pay a launch fee, but are expected to help out. Members who have a current NAR Membership can fly model rockets of any impulse up to the maximum, subject to RSO and LCO approval.

Non-members (adult guests) range fee is $5 per day, per adult.

Youth of school age (Minors and college students with ID) fly for free.

Non-members (Adult and Youth) at our Harmon Flying Field launches are limited to single C-motor impulse, with no clustered or staged models permitted.

MTMA provides the launch equipment, and a MTMA RSO/LCO will launch the model rockets.

All rockets are subject to a safety inspection and motor check prior to flight

Launch cancelations will not be announced here. We do cancel launches because of wind and weather, and when we are short-handed.

Our published launch times are subject to last minute changes. Our launches are run by volunteers and hobbyists and we sometimes have to run a loose schedule. We usually launch until everyone has had enough, or the listed ending time, whichever happens first. If you arrive later in the day, you may find that we have already launched, packed up, and left.

MTMA Membership.

MTMA club membership is $20 per family per calendar year.
MTMA members must also hold a valid NAR membership.
Dues and fees are all "per-family," but family members who are not NAR members are subject to the non-member (guest) impulse, cluster, and stage restrictions.
